What to Do About a Flat Tyre in Dubai

A flat tyre can happen in a car park or while driving. Your first priority is a safe stopping place; the repair decision comes after the damage and the tyre’s condition are assessed.

Stop driving on a deflated tyre

A tyre driven while flat can suffer internal damage even if the original puncture looks small. If a tyre loses pressure while moving, slow down carefully and find a safe place to stop. Avoid working on a wheel in an exposed traffic lane or in an unstable location. If there is immediate danger, seek appropriate emergency assistance.

Take photos from a safe position

Send your location, vehicle make and model, a photo of the affected wheel and the tyre size printed on the sidewall. Tell the team if you drove after the pressure dropped and whether the wheel or sidewall was damaged. Photos help plan the response, but do not replace a physical inspection.

A repair is not always appropriate

The location and extent of damage matter. A small tread puncture may be repairable after the tyre is inspected; sidewall damage, major cuts or damage from driving flat may require replacement. The inside of the tyre needs assessment before a permanent repair is approved.

If you have a spare

Tell us whether there is a usable spare, locking wheel nut key and the necessary fittings. Temporary spare tyres may have speed and distance limits. Follow the instructions on the spare and in the vehicle handbook, and arrange a suitable permanent tyre as soon as practical.

Avoid a repeat problem

Check pressures when tyres are cold using the vehicle’s recommended settings. The maximum value printed on the tyre is not necessarily the recommended vehicle pressure. Ask about the condition of the other tyres and investigate recurring pressure loss.
